Facilitators
Olga Klimova started practicing meditation in 2008 in the tradition of U Ba Khin and S.N. Goenka. She learned Anapana, Vipassana and Metta meditation techniques and attended and did service for many retreats in this tradition over the years. Olga has been following the Buddhist path to awakening very diligently, practicing sitting meditation several hours each day for many years, with the basis of the most fundamental principles of sila (5 precepts), which is essential for achieving good samadhi (mind concentration).
Four years ago Olga connected with the monastics in Theravada Buddhist tradition and discovered a large library of books and Dhamma talks explaining the path to awakening from perspectives renounced teachers of advanced monastic practitioners.
Recently Olga traveled to Thailand, a Buddhist country that preserved the Dhamma knowledge and wisdom very well, and is also is a home to many monasteries and enlightened teachers. Olga spent time in a monastery in Thailand, Wat Marp Jan, studying with monastics and learning their way in order to dive deeper into the meditation practice.
Olga has a close connection with the Empty Cloud monastery in New Jersey, whose abbot, Bhante Suddhaso (who has been in robes for 20 years), became a true friend and a guide in a more advanced meditation practice.
Vladimir Kuperman started practicing meditation in 2006 after returning from a transformational trip to Ladakh, a small country bordering Tibet in the Himalayan Mountains, and heartfelt teaching of the Dalai Lama in the northern India.
Vladimir has attended New York Insight Meditation center for many years while living in NYC, learning breath concentration meditation along with walking meditation and loving kindness meditation from many prominent teachers. There he also learned the importance of Sangha – a spiritual community that supports each others path.
Vladimir’s meditation practice played an integral role in establishment of Peace Temple – a spiritual retreat center in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, devoted to creating and holding peaceful and inspiring community events, where creativity, spiritual growth, sustainability, respect for nature, and respect for each other are practiced.
Besides hosting the retreat, Vladimir will lead morning yoga, loving kindness (Meta) meditation and Walking meditation from Theravada Buddhist tradition. In addition, Vladimir will lead sound bath sessions, nature hike and facilitate Central American Sauna.
