In these past several years she’s traveled both within the U.S. and internationally for rope opportunities\, as a performer\, as a student\, and more recently as an educator. Previous to 2020\, Syd trained and worked as a professional modern and contemporary dancer\, a background she takes great pride in\, as it deeply enriches her current practice. With over thirteen years of experience as a movement artist\, Sydona brings a unique\, fluid\, yet delightfully sadistic perspective to the world of Shibari. This is her fourth year of creating Peace Temple’s Shibari Retreats\, which she proudly considers one of the most fulfilling experiences of her career. \nsydonarogue.com \n\n  \nAnoxia Wilde \nAnoxia (they/them) is a switch based out of Chicago\, who started in rope on the west coast in 2015. Over the years\, they’ve had the opportunity to study in many different styles with educators in the US\, Europe\, and Japan. They present classes which go beyond patterns and rote memorization to teach underlying principles relevant to students at any point in their rope journey. In play\, their rope is often intense\, creative\, dynamic\, and charged with emotional sadism. They have presented at cons like Tethered Together\, Kinkfest\, and Ropecraft\, at weekend workshops around the US\, currently serve on the NARIX steering committee\, and work at Shibari Study during the day. \nanoxiarope.org \n\n\n  \nShakti Bliss \nShakti Bliss (she/her/they/them) is a full-spectrum somatic artist based in the lands of the Apache and Kickapoo (post-colonized: Austin\, TX). SUMMARY:Advanced Shibari Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, August 27 – Sunday\, August 30\nREGISTER\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nRetreat program\n\n\n\n\nStep away from the chaos of daily life and immerse yourself in the serene beauty of Peace Temple to learn\, experience\, and play. This weekend retreat explores intimacy\, connection\, and creativity through Shibari\, movement practice\, and intentional community building. This weekend invites experienced practitioners to deepen their practice in a shared container of openness and care\, and offers a supportive space to slow down\, reconnect with oneself\, and connect with friends old and new. \nSwim in the pond\, take a nature walk\, nap in a sunlit field\, explore a winding creek\, discover the secret chess room\, or cozy up by the fire. Peace Temple’s facilities are rich with quiet corners and playful surprises that will reward your curiosity. \nThroughout the weekend\, you can choose from a thoughtfully curated blend of offerings from expert facilitators and educators.  Dive deep into your rope education by taking every single rope class\, or take a step back and focus on the morning movement classes.  Be social in the discussion based offerings and group activities\, or spend quality solo time.  Relish in the intensity of a group sauna experience and facilitator performances\, or choose softness and restoration by attending the morning sound bath. Leave behind your expectations and craft a weekend schedule that fits you. \nThe weekend’s activities are accompanied by nutritious\, delicious\, and hearty meals cooked on site by a private chef\, included in the cost of the retreat. \nFor the advanced level weekend\, all attendees are expected to have experience within this practice\, as all classes and rope offerings will be at an intermediate to advanced level. We expect all attendees to have confident knowledge of safety and risk mitigation in rope and excellent in-scene communication skills. Couples\, individuals\, people who tie\, people who get tied\, and people who self tie\, are all warmly welcomed and encouraged to attend!  While individual classes throughout the weekend may have more specific prerequisites\, the following can be used as a guideline for the general prerequisite skill level of the retreat:  \nThose who tie should be able to confidentially tie several harnesses and be able to build and manage multiple uplines. Those in rope should be able to confidentially self monitor for signs of nerve compression in rope. If you’re not sure if your skill level is a fit for this for the retreat\, please reach out to sydona@sydonarogue.com. \n  \n\n\nTentative Retreat schedule\n\nThursday\n\n3:00pm – 7:00pm – Landing/Arrival\n7:00 pm – Dinner\n9:00 pm – Opening circle / Introductions / Weekend Guidelines\n11:00 pm – Rest\n\nFriday\n\n9:00 am – Breakfast\n10am – Gong Bath\n11:30 am — Wheel of Consent (Required for all participants!)\n1:30 pm – Lunch\n3:00pm — Rope Classes\n6:00 pm – Dinner\n8pm – Storytime and Evening Openspace\n11:00 pm – Rest\n\nSaturday\n\n9:00am – Breakfast\n10am – Movement Class\n11:30 am – Rope Classes\n1:30pm —  Rope Classes\n3:30pm – Lunch\n4:30 pm – Bottoming Roundtable\, Daytime Openspace\, and Sauna\n7:30 — Dinner\n9:00pm – Facilitator Demos and Q&A and Evening Openspace\n11:00 pm – Rest\n\nSunday\n\n9:00 – Breakfast\n10am – Movement Class\n11:30 am –  Rope Classes\n2:00 pm – Lunch and Packup\n3:00pm –  Closing circle\n4:00 pm – Departure\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacilitators\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n Sydona\n \n \n \n \n \n Fuoco\n \n \n \n \n \n Margherita Tisato\n \n \n \n \n \n Foley\n \n \n \n \n \n Beth Poague\n \n \n \n \n \n Vladimir\n \n \n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSydona \nIn March of 2018 Sydona (she/her) found her way into the NYC rope scene and never looked back. Since then\, she’s immersed herself into honing her practice\, perhaps obsessively. She currently works full time as a nightlife performer\, bondage artist\, photographer\, creator\, and facilitator. \nsydonarogue.com \n  \nFuoco \nFuoco began her rope journey as a bottom in Phoenix in 2012 and shortly thereafter moved to London\, where much of her early rope learning happened. Upon moving back to the US\, she began presenting at conferences and intensives around the country\, while regularly returning to Europe to further her education. Her career as a bondage practitioner\, teacher\, and performer grew alongside her career as a professional acrobat and movement specialist. She’s trained extensively in partner acrobatics\, contortion\, and hair hanging\, and through these disciplines has developed a keen sense of how to explore intensity in sustainable ways and what it means for two bodies to be in conversation with one another. In 2023 she joined Shibar Study as Director of Education and has been thinking about shibari education full time since.  \nShe believes that kink is inherently political\, and strives to bring her politics\, values\, and an accountability for those values into her teaching spaces. She offers private lessons and sessions out of Imprint Studio in downtown Northampton\, MA on Pocumtuck land \nsydonarogue.com \n  \nMargherita Tisato \nIn March of 2018 Sydona (she/her) found her way into the NYC rope scene and never looked back. This dedication\, fueled by years of diligent flute practice\, cultivated a robust foundation for his foray into the realm of breathwork.
